Today were going to look at 3 different advertisements that are also of different types of media channels. As the title of this post describes we will be looking at a good ad and why its good, a bad ad and why its bad and a extremely horrible ad.
THE GOOD:
What a great ad that was. McDonald's marketing team is truly one of the greatest in the world hands down. This ad in particular was for the world cup that happen this year and display various people doing soccer trick shots. Now from my experience on the internet specifically youtube soccer trick shots videos most of the time go viral especially during the time of the world cup. The video also displays different age groups and races going from young to old and white to black appealing to every age group. Also the music and pacing and even the tricks just make you feel good in general something McDonald achieves in their ads and promote their "I'm Lovin It" motto. All these aspects make this a good ad.
THE BAD:
Now this advertisement is something different it is a OOH(Out Of Home) type of ad displayed in a subway station for a funeral service. Now i won't lie here but this ad is quite creative using more of the space its put in to help understand the ad which is something hard to achieve. BUT! I just find this ad promoting wrong things and quite distasteful. Now to me at first glance the ad scares me its inviting me to fall on the tracks and get hit by a train and leads to suicide/death. Also elderly people may feel bad because they are reaching the age of death and even possibly that they made want to read this without knowing and walk off the tracks. Just what the ad promotes has made this a bad ad,yes it is creative and quite good for a funeral service and it is hard to promote a funeral service without mentioning death, but just the fact that many people such as myself may feel frightened by this is bad.
THE UGLY:
Known as the "Most Racist Ad Ever" this marketing campaign by Pepsi co. directed by Tyler the creator is absolutely ugly. Racism, domestic violence and stereotyping need I say more.
Hope you liked my little list here! Leave a comment about your The Good, The Bad and The Ugly ads that you have seen! :)
Feeling loopy and sincerely,
