Hello Internet and Readers,
This post is mainly to talk about what I see around me for ads, how often I see them and how I feel about advertising in general.
As a Marketing and Advertising student I love what advertising is and what it has become over the decades. But I haven't always felt that. As a young adult living in the city I am forced into the world of advertising and have grown up around it. I always felt that advertising has been corrupting me into buying peoples product and affecting my decisions I didn't necessarily hate it but I just thought nothing of it didn't care and didn't want to succumb to their brand/product. But as years went on and living in the city I found them really cool and how they would promote themselves in different ways and learned that it really is everywhere you go. You cannot escape advertising and that's not a bad thing. Now a days when I see an advertisement I judge it thinking to myself how are you going to get me interested in your brand/product I start to accept it. This is the reason for me wanting to get into the industry.
Living in the city I have seen countless and countless advertisements. For those of you who do not live in the city its hard to explain how many I see but for you who do I'm pretty sure you know how I feel. Now I have traveled outside of the city and seen more rural and suburban areas and there are very different advertising there and very less of it to which is to be expected. Now from seeing countless ads in the city I have had my fare share of good and bad ads. In the city for most parts the ads are either really good or really extreme and not extreme in terms of extreme advertising but more risk taking with creativity. They include all major and small brands and companies from Mcdonalds to Pepsi co. to even a convenience store down the road and surprisingly they have all been good or at least decent I haven't seen a bad ad in the city in a while. Maybe I am not looking in the right places but I don't think I want to. Now my parents live by the lake way outside from the city and I do visit the area from time to time and my experience with advertisements there is that they are very different and not in a good way. Now I get it I am not the target audience at all for these ads but still from a consumers point of view many of the ads are for a high class lifestyle or for farms but even those are done so poorly either they are to simple or too confusing. The two places for ads are very different. So I stay in the city for my advertisements thank you very much hahaha.

My Top 5 Favorite Advertisements OF ALL TIME!
Hello Internet and Readers,
Today this post is my favorite one I will get to show you guys my TOP 5 FAVORITE ADVERTISEMENT OF ALL TIME!!. Now all these are my opinions and no way am I saying these are the best to everyone they are just the best to me so hope you enjoy!
5.
I have to say OOH(out of home) advertising is one of my favorites. It is just so hard to do right but this one right here for "The Economist" is done so brilliantly well. Just makes you feel smart!
4.
Oh man Ferris Bulers Day Off a classic film(and one of my favorites) and Honda has recreated parts of that movie with Matthew Broderick starring in them. Car commercials have always been cool and slick and this one is no exception it talks about features and lifestyle all while still making feel nostalgic. Such a great commercial
3.
Ahh Cherrios ads. I just love Cheerios ads especially this one. Its simplicity, creative aspect and just makes you feel good all around. It also describe benefits something consumers are always looking for. Just makes me feel good. :)
2.
One of the most viral commercials ever. EVER. Old spice has created a ad that drove them to success. The marketing team has always gone for more of a "Manly Humor" in all their ads but the fact that this ad not only targets men it also targets women for a men cleaning product. It just absolutely genius. I'm on a horse.
1.
Just speechless. Wow. Goosebumps and chills and ALL THE FEELS. Now I know this is a game trailer and it is a different for of advertising but this is something I feel is truly original. It includes so many cool ideas into one video. With a story with no words, it goes in reverse and goes forwards to meet in the middle and just the feel. It makes you feel for the person and it does give you an idea of the game but not the gameplay. This more promotes the franchise and the brand of Dead Island and less of the game which makes it soo genius. You are more hyped for the brand then the game itself

Effective Advertising
Hello Internet and Readers,

In this post I will be talking about what makes a good advertisement and what marketing teams should be looking for when creating this ad. Now I know there are many different departments an ad goes through before it reaches its media channel but for this post I will be focusing on mainly the creative aspect. Some brief points I will be covering are:
- Creativity
- Placement
- Overall Design
Now for Creativity, I feel that many advertisements today try too hard to be original. Now that may seem like a good thing to be original but now a days it is almost impossible to be original. Every idea has been thought of or people feel as they have seen everything already. So for an ad to be creative and good it should strive for being the best at what is it instead of trying to be itself. Meaning that if you are promoting your brand/product and it is similar to another brand/product do what your competitors do but better, feed off what is around you so you can be at the top of that ladder.
Now for Placement, I feel that this is huge so many ads have been good they have just been placed in the wrong spot or are targeting a different audience. Now I know placing an ad in different places cost different prices and that factors into the advertisement itself which may hinder its placement. For an ad to be placed in the correct area generates all of the viewership of your ad so you don't want to screw it up. So my advise to this is that first firmly decide your target audience. Instead of looking at the traffic area where the ad is going to be placed look more at where your target audience is.
No one wants to look at something ugly. This is why Overall Design is important for a good ad. We all have seen ads that just look disgusting and feel disgusting. Not too many advertisement these days suffer from this and they shouldn't even be. Now a days I feel that simplicity is in, go with pastel colors for your ads or feel good bright colors. DO NOT over complicate things and DO NOT go overboard with creativity. As many people have said "Less is More"
Thanks for reading! If you feel I am wrong in any places or have any more aspect regarding creative in a ad leave a comment! :)

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
Hello internet and readers,
AoM's Michael Rosales
Today were going to look at 3 different advertisements that are also of different types of media channels. As the title of this post describes we will be looking at a good ad and why its good, a bad ad and why its bad and a extremely horrible ad.
THE GOOD:
What a great ad that was. McDonald's marketing team is truly one of the greatest in the world hands down. This ad in particular was for the world cup that happen this year and display various people doing soccer trick shots. Now from my experience on the internet specifically youtube soccer trick shots videos most of the time go viral especially during the time of the world cup. The video also displays different age groups and races going from young to old and white to black appealing to every age group. Also the music and pacing and even the tricks just make you feel good in general something McDonald achieves in their ads and promote their "I'm Lovin It" motto. All these aspects make this a good ad.
THE BAD:
Now this advertisement is something different it is a OOH(Out Of Home) type of ad displayed in a subway station for a funeral service. Now i won't lie here but this ad is quite creative using more of the space its put in to help understand the ad which is something hard to achieve. BUT! I just find this ad promoting wrong things and quite distasteful. Now to me at first glance the ad scares me its inviting me to fall on the tracks and get hit by a train and leads to suicide/death. Also elderly people may feel bad because they are reaching the age of death and even possibly that they made want to read this without knowing and walk off the tracks. Just what the ad promotes has made this a bad ad,yes it is creative and quite good for a funeral service and it is hard to promote a funeral service without mentioning death, but just the fact that many people such as myself may feel frightened by this is bad.
THE UGLY:
Known as the "Most Racist Ad Ever" this marketing campaign by Pepsi co. directed by Tyler the creator is absolutely ugly. Racism, domestic violence and stereotyping need I say more.
Hope you liked my little list here! Leave a comment about your The Good, The Bad and The Ugly ads that you have seen! :)

Hello internet and readers,
Welcome to Ad's On Meds the blog!. My name is Michael Rosales and I will be the one and only writer of this blog. Now you must be wondering about the title of this blog because Ad's On Meds seems quite sketchy. This all started about 5 days ago of writing this post where I was diagnosed with Shingles. I have been in pain the last couple of days and have been on two types of medication for it and one those medication is a really strong painkiller that makes me feel really high. I thought to myself that I should change this predicament from being a bad one into a good one thus Ads On Meds was born. I will be writing all these post while I am on the medication. I hope you all will follow this blog and enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it :)
